“Statuista” is an ancient trade and was a passion for the late Alfonso Sartarelli. It consists of the art of mold making and the production of decorative statuary products used to provide a rich, everlasting touch to your surroundings. Alfonso Sartarelli, born in Rosora, Italy in 1935, immigrated to Canada in the 60’s in the pursuit of a dream to raise his family surrounded by the beautiful nature that Canada has to offer. With a strong and honest work ethic he managed to do so through a series of efforts during his first years in Canada. Nevertheless he longed for the beauty of Renaissance art that he had left behind. In his early years in Italy, Alfonso had the opportunity to work on movie sets, learning the art of mold making and reproducing artistic backgrounds and sets for that industry. He developed an appreciation for the everlasting beauty that was found in statuary art and architectural décor that surrounded him back home. In 1980 he founded Alfonso da Rosora Garden Ornaments, as a vehicle to fulfill his passion in creating beautiful statues.
Today, the “Statuista” tradition is passed on to his son Helmut Sartarelli and the dedicated staff at Statue Canada that make all possible.
